| What sort of websites do you scan? |
Offshore Announcements can check an unlimited number of sites, all of which need to be pre-agreed by your compliance or management team; that list can be updated easily at any time. Those sites include the main regulatory websites such as the FSA, the JFSC, GFSC etc, as well as a large number of finance industry sites, newsfeeds, government sources, chambers of commerce, security services and many more. |
| Does the system actually send me the articles or announcements I need? |
As an Offshore Announcements user, you will receive an e-mail from us, at the time specified, containing links to all relevant items. Once you click on those links, your browser will take you directly to the source website, where you can view the relevant material. |
| How do I know the system will scan the websites I need to check? |
Offshore Announcements can check an unlimited number of websites. A company's compliance department or management team can add to that list at any time, to make sure that we are checking the sites you need to stay right up to date. |
| Can I track which are my company's most popular articles or announcements? |
Yes you can. The Offshore Announcements website includes a statistics section which enables you to see which articles or announcements have been accessed most often by your collegaues. |
| Can we use it to circulate our own announcements? |
Absolutely. Your own news and updates can be circulated to a specified user group using the Offshore Announcements system, with the full system tracking and reporting functionality. |
| Can I access the information I need directly via the Offshore Announcements website? |
Yes you can. All users have their own personal login details for the Offshore Announcements website, and they can then navigate quickly and easily to the information they are looking for. |
| Can I search for information which was circulated before I became a user? |
Yes you can. Our website contains an archive system which captures all of the data we have sent to our users since the service was launched. Users can search it quickly and easily for the information they need. |
| I saw an article which would be really useful for a colleague - can I make them aware of it? |
Any article, announcement or web page can easily be recommended to a user group, with the full tracking and reporting functionality of the Offshore Announcements system. |
| Will I get lots of material which I don't need? |
Offshore Announcements only sends you links to material on websites which have requested by your management or compliance team. They can also set which material from that website is sent to which user group. |
| How easy is it to change the type of e-mails I receive, or their frequency? |
Your management or compliance team can reset the preferences for a particular user group at any time. |
| How can Offshore Announcements help with CPD? |
The information which is circulated via the Offshore Announcements system could potentially be used as part of your CPD program. In addition we have included a special CPD tracking facility on the website, so that points can be logged, whether or not they have been generated through Offshore Announcements material. This makes it much easier for you to track your progression toward annual CPD targets. |
| What is a Certificate of Achievement? |
The Offshore Announcements system enables users to access a certificate which details which articles and announcements they have read, and how many hours CPD they have attained. It can be used as part of a CV, to prove a user's commitment to keeping their knowledge right up to date. |

| What if something happens just after I receive my email - how long will it be before I know? |
We scan all our websites for new material every hour. You will be notified in the next e-mail we are due to send you, which is set by your pre-agreed preferences. |
